Sammara Ecolodge Healing retreat Amazon river is a family company dedicated to perform customized tours based on a mínimum of 2 and máximum of 10 people.
Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve ,is a protected área located in the región of Loreto,Perú and spans an área of 20´800 km2 (8,000 sq mi).it protects an área of low hills and seasonally flooded forest in the Amazon rainforest.
The Reserve boasts some of the Amazon´s most abundant biodiversity :
Scientists have registered the presence of 527 species of birds,102 mammals species,69 species of reptiles ,58 amphibian species,269different kinds of fish,1,024 species of wild or domesticated plants.
This incredible concentration of life is made possible by the abundant rainfall and stable temperaturas typical of the región,Annual rainfall ranges 2,000-3,000 mm and temperaturas range from 20º C to 33 ºC (68º F-91º F)
Each year ,between the months of november and april ,heavy rains fall and the water levels in creeks and rivers rise ,this makes for easy accessibility by motorboat and canoes and is the period which gives
Pacaya-Samiria name ´Jungle of mirrors´,owing to the impressive reflections off the abundant black water.
And from may to october, when rainfall decreases, the water levels gently retreat ,reaching their lowest levels in August of each year, this time of the year allows for some trekking within the jungle and much better fishing ,as the wildlife is concentrated in the streams and lakes.
